Based on what you have read from the two articles on Ms Siti's unfortunate and horrific experience as a maid, reflect deeply before you answer the next two questions:
(1) What rights do you think that humans have over others?
(2) What do the articles state about how humans treat each other in our modern world of today?
I am expecting a thought-provoking response from each of you and that would mean no less than 100 words per comment. The dateline for this online reflection is 9 July 2009.

1) Humans do not have rights over others. However in today's society, the hierachy system gives people an illusion of having rights over others.
Humans are from the same species, brought into this world through the same means. Hence, we are all the same and have no special reasons to tower and reign over another person. The only right we have is to be treated equally and fairly.
The employer of Ms Siti Hajar only had authority over her but not a right over her. An authority is earned and is not to be taken granted for. However, a right is something natural and is given to at brith. This is something that can be taken for granted .
In this case Ms Siti Hajar's employer only had the authority over her as an employer and that is to make her do the housework. However, It is not in a maid's job description to be abused hence, it is not within her authority to abuse her. Her employer merely had an illusion of having a right over her, probably caused by today's hierachy system.

2) This articles atates two ways that people treat each other in today's mordern society.
One is abuse, which is becoming rife in a relationship where one is given an authority over another. Like this recount on Miss Hajar's mishap, it is clearly shown that she was subjected to abuse from her employer. This voilent behaviour is often nutured through today's stress filled society and the likeliness of resulting to physical means in order to get things done our way.
The article also states how humans often help those in need. As stated in both articles, a taxi driver helped Ms Hajar to get to the Indonesian embassy despite her having no money.
Not only that, he also gave her RM10 after hearing her story.
These articles show how humans treat each other voilently and badly in today's society. But in contrast, it also shows the good side of humanity by showing the kindness and compassion shown to those in need.

1)Humans have no rights over others who are of lower rank than one is . They should not look down on the poors as they too are humans . All should be treated the samw way and not be treated like an 'animal' in Ms Siti Hajar's case .
Her employer only had a right to make her do housework and that is all . Instead she force Siti eat pork even though Malays are not allowed to . She does not have a right to treat her so harshly .
2)I think humans nowadays do not treat each other fair and square instead if they do not like a certain person , they would treat them badly . I think some people do not treat maids as humans . Judging from the number of articles i have read so far , people do abuse maids . After being found out , they would like say they did not mean to do all those things and ask for forgiveness all that .
I think people take maids for granted and expects them to do all their things . But there is still a good side to humans ; They help others when they are in need . For example , the taxi driver , though he knows that he will not earn any money with Siti as a passenger , he still took her to the embassy . And in the process , he even gave her some pocket money . So if almost a quarter of the world is like this , would the world improve and prove to be the best ?

1)Humans have no right over others. Humans sometime thought that maids are stupid and bad but even if they were in this kind of attitude, the employer should not abuse her. She is also a human being and the fear of being abused may be left in her memory forever. The employer should have knew that most maids are muslim and not to offer her pork and rice or not even give her only plain rice. She can be sue if she abuse any maids or not paying monthly wages. If the maid didn't run away, someday, she might be abused to death by her employer.Maids are only helper to do housework and take care of the employer child, the employer doesn't have a right to treat her badly, nor even abuse her.
2)I think that humans do not treat each other equally in our modern world of today. Some people thinks that maids were in a poorer country, so they have the right to torture them or scold them once they pay money. If the maid could not take in so much torture, she might die.People take maids for granted. They start abusing, but when they got caught, they will act as if they regret and cry for forgiveness. But someday they they will start torturing maids again. There is also a good side of human. The taxi driver, gave the maid a free ride to Indonesian embassy even that he knows she doesn't even have a cent. after knowing the whole story, he also gave her RM10.This articles shows how human treated each other. Although there is people who are treating others badly, there is still a few who show kindness and compassion to those who is in need.

1)After reading the articles,I could tell that Ms Siti's employer definitely gets used to the idea of "upper class" and "lower class" in our society. It is true that in our modern days, peole are catergorised into different levels, even so,everyone of us has our own rights.
In the relationship of an employer and an employee, the employer does have the rights to order his or her employee to do the reuqired job but not using the authority to go overboard. In the case of abusing,I really think that Ms Siti's employer may have forgotten that we are all humans and gone overboard by thinking that she has the rights to do so as an employer.
Even if there are classes being divided in our society,in any circumstance and relationship, one deserves to be treated as how he or she is supposed to be but not getting abused by someone who mistakes his or her rights.
2)Different people have different concepts of our modern world today. From the articles,it is obvious that Ms Siti's employer has the concept that as an employer, she has the rights to do whatever she wants to Ms Siti.
In our world today, not only Ms Siti's employer, there are quite a number of people think the same way as her.In my opinion,it is acceptable for having several classes being classified in the society, still, whatever class one belongs to,he or she deserves to be treated rightfully.

(1) What rights do you think that humans have over others?
Between employer and employees, the employers tend to think that they have the right over their maids and demand to have what they always want, if not granted they would punish them, beat them or cut their salaries, in which to me is wrong.
Humans are humans, even maids. The words 'maids' and 'slaves' gives the people the thought that they always have the right to do what they want to them and it will not be wrong. Just like what Ms Siti's employer did, treating Ms siti like she's an animal or an object that has no feelings. Such example was when she was forced to eat pork despite the fact that she's a muslim and eating it is against their religion.
Humans do not have a right over humans.Yes elderly , employers, parents and teachers have the rights/authority to order thier employees, children or students but they will never have the right to hurt them such that abusing them. Yes they may punish them once in a while to let them learn their mistakes, but to the extent of starving them or even having their skins burnt/scalded is absolutely wrong.
(2) What do the articles state about how humans treat each other in our modern world of today?
In the articles, they tell me different ways humans treat others.
Firstly, humans tend to have the idea of having a right over others when they have the higher "class" or authority above someone else. Ms Siti's employer was abusive, she punished her in a way that is inacceptable.
But, not all are like her employer. After seeing her in such state the taxi driver kindly brought her to the embassy, not to forget even gave her 10RM which may not be in much help but generously gave it to her. And the officials quickly took action and treated Ms Siti's injuries and got her employer arrested.
In the world of cruelty and evil, there is always good.

1)In reality, no one have the rights over others. As for maids, that's somehow different, in a sense that they left their family, to other countries to work.
Mainly just to earn money to support their families. Such action takes a lot of courage to make a decision. As for some people, they cares for their place in the society, therefore, they starts to look down on others.
I think that human rights is for everyone. They should be true to themselves no matter who they are.
Yes, maids were paid by their employer, to work for them.
Just like anyone in the office, a boss, ordering his workers to do things. As an employer, they can order them to do things, but not using physical contact to communicate. Everyone was given birth by their parents. So why must they look down on people, despite the fact that they were all the same, human. Just that some people were more educated, not like maids, that their parents could not afford to give them sufficient education. But, definately, they would have more respect for others, more than anyone that looked down on them. To physically torture and abuse someone is not only having rights over others but intentionally hurt others.
2)Through the article, i realised that people in our modern world of today treat people well or bad through their own personalities. Like some employers, they would treat them as friends, share what they have with them. Why? Their thinking was not more of to traditional but modern in a way that friends help each other. Negatively, as mentioned in the article that the employer injured Ms Siti, this tells me that she thinks in a more traditional way. Why? the maids in the past were canned by their employers, like what Miss Siti's employer did. Not only that, i supposed that Miss
siti's employer were emotionally unstable. why is that so, it's because she was a single parent, by this, i think that she had a tattered family, that's why, she released all her temper by abusing her maid. And also, she gave her maid plain rice, with PORK in it. She's a muslim. Why would she do that to make her suffer? She must be feeling very depressed. this is so because, she actually apologised to Miss Siti about all the cruel things she had done to her. She must be counselled regarding this matter for the sake of her two children which needed her a lot.
1)Humans do not have any rights over anyone. In this world, despite the difference in ,status and wealth everyone is equal and should be treated equal.God made each and everyone of us unique in our own ways but he still considered as human beings and there is no one above another. From my point of view, i feel this employer should be charged for abuse.Even if the employer is under depression or facing problems, he or she cannot and must not vent it on her employee. She is here to work and not for abuse.Even if that is so, the employer ygo to the extend of pouring boiling water over her. She is practically inhuman! So what if she is a maid, i believe she deserve some respect and dignity.
2)From this articles, higher status people tend to mistreat those who are lower status than them. Now in this mondern world, the employers seem not afraid to do such things because of their wealth. But on the bright side, this is just the minority. The majority are better and they do not abuse their employee. They treat them like how they should be treated, feed them proper food and give them their salary on time.
Camillus_2e1(32)
1)Humans have no rights over others as they do not own them.Maids should not be treated as slaves. They are workers who are maling a living and should be treated as an employee. They agreed to work in a contract, not to be cruelly abused by the by the employee.Humans should treat one another with respect and equally. The low wages and long hours are compensation for work done by the maid not as their rights to punish or abuse them as punching bags to vent their frustrations when things go wrong.
2)The articles state three things about how humans treat each other in our modern world of today.
First, the articles stated that more humans physically abuse the maids whenever they got bad results or something went wrong. This shows that humans are pushing their own fault or punishments to the low-class like maids or slaves.
Secondly, the employer only gave Ms Siti a bowl of rice with pork.Shows that the employer does not respect her religous as Ms Siti is a muslim.Lastly, yhe articles also stated that Ms Siti did not think that all employers are bad, shows that there are others who treat their maids well. The compassion and kindness shown by the taxi driver who rescued the maid and giving her pocket money shows that there are some humans wno respect maids.
Camillus_2E1(32)
MiaoRu(7)
1)Humans have no rights over others as everybody are equal and should be treated equally. No one would want to be abused or treated unfairly. Same for maids. They left their country and family to work in an unfamiliar place. Employees should treat them with respect.
But still, lots of people see maids as people who are low educated and stand in a lower place in the society. They make them do things that are unreasonable and starve them because they don’t want to pay for their food. But they have no rights to do so.
Ms Siti’s employer had gone overboard. Since she had employed Ms Siti, she should be responsible over her and not hurt or starve her.
2)In our society today, people are divided into different classes and are treated differently. Maids are known to be in the lower class and are not as important as other people who are in the higher class. So maids are often bullied or tortured as people don’t feel that they are important.
In Ms Siti’s case, her employer may have abused her because she feels that Ms Siti was on a lower rank and of course Ms Siti was not her family member so she just vented her anger on her.
But still Ms Siti still felt that not all employees treat their maids badly. This shows that she still believed that there are people who are kind out there. Like her neighbour and the taxi driver who helped her escape.
MARK 20 2E1
What rights do you think that humans have over others?
I strongly felt that human has rights over another human to a certain small extend only. I felt that we are born equally and that all of us are the same. It would be more of respect that allows us to teach or tell or take action on the other humans. Just like when the students have respect for the teacher, then they are willing to learn from the him/her. A group of people who has the most rights over the others would be the police. Police are created to have rights over the others, but never to fear, there are laws that they also have to follow.
What do the articles state about how humans treat each other in our modern world of today?
The articles state alot of negative action taken on a human by another human. It really reflects greatly on how bad today society is. Respect between humans are getting lesser and lesser as days passed. Humans started to attack, injured or tortured other humans just because they think they are in a higher class. More and more suffering can be seen on the news nowadays.

(1) What rights do you think that humans have over others?
Humans doesn't have right over others. We are born to this world with nothing, we are equal.I just don't understand why some people are so sick that they actually do something so cruel. In the article, the maid was abused by her employer.Although she's just a worker to the employer, the employer should not have treated her so badly that the employer actually scalded her with hot water, beat her occasionally, made her eat pork which goes against her religion. What right does the employer have vent their anger on the maid, maid are paid for work not for abusing.Show them respect, care for them don't ill-treat them.
(2) What do the articles state about how humans treat each other in our modern world of today?
In our modern word of today, people with higher status tend to look down,ill-treat others who are lower than them. Some of the higher status people are mentally sick as there are some possible reasons like too much stress. Not everone is as bad as the employer. The taxi driver took pity on the maid,he drove the maid to the Indonesia embassy and even gave her RM10 as pocket money.Even after being abused by her employer, she personally think that not all Malaysian employers are bad.Although the maid was disfigured, her family still hoped for her return.
1)Human have no rights over others. I really felt that we are human being and so, we are equal. Even though some of them are rich,poor,ugly,useless..etc. But afterall, we are still the same. At the end of our life, we would still face dead. I just can't understand why they would ill-treat they maids. Is it out of stress? We still can't figure out. But we should really treat them well. Maybe they would think because they are lower rank than us, they are just maids. But,some of them are just workers who works for boss. Isn't like the same thing?
So I realy thnk that those who hired maids should really treat them well. We must always remember humans are equal.
2)Nowadays,more and more employers ill-treated their maids. They often abuse them, i think it is beause they think they have the rights as they paid for the maid. But they does not know that it does not contain of "Abuse". Money does not means everything.
In the article, the maid was ill-treated in such way. But sometimes,we must think why the employers treated them in that way.Isn't they did something wrong? But anyway,we still must treat them well although in this society people are divided into different groups.

(1) What rights do you think that humans have over others?
I don't think anyone has any rights over another because we are all human, no matter what your social status we are all human and humans have feelings. We should not think that we have rights over another because in fact, we don't. We have maids, but we don't have any rights over them because they aren't robots or machines they are humans like all of us even though they clean and cook for us, that doesnt mean we have rights over them to ill treat them.
(2) What do the articles state about how humans treat each other in our modern world of today?
Humans in our modern world, think that people that are are poorer or more underprivileged can be easily mistreated and looked down upon. I think that no one has the respect for anyone anymore like Siti's employer she did not respect Siti as she ill treated and even made her eat pork, which was against her religion she did not respect the choices that Siti made at all.
Welson Lee(29)
1)I think that no human has the rights over another human. All humans are equally reguardless their job or looks. Take a maid for example, her employer has no rights to treat her so badly but instead treat her like an equal human.
2) The article states that humans nowadays treat another human very badly espically to maids. Torture like giving maids a little food physically abusing the maid and not giving maids their monthly wages are very common nowadays. Fortunately, Ms Siti was able to meet up with a taxi driver that will let her on the ride without paying a cent, showing that not all humans does not show care and concern for another.

1. What rights do you think that humans have over others?
I think that humans have a little right over others but we must not exceed the limits. We can order others to certain extent to help us in our daily lives but not to abuse them. We should not ill treat or abuse others. We have no rights to make or to arrange the lives of others. All humans are equally regardless of race, language and religions. Despite the difference in education, occupation and wealth, everyone is equal and should be treated equally. Afterall, we are still human. God make us unique in our own way. Therefore, we should show care, compassion and respect to others.
2. What do the articles state about how humans treat each other in our modern world of today?
In our modern world of today, I think that humans do not treat each other equally. From my point of view, the well-educated and wealthy person will ill treat and abuse the uneducated or low educated and poor person. For example, maids were uneducated and poor person. They come here to work and earn money to send back to the homeland. At the same time, they earn themselves a living. Yes, maids were paid by their employer, to work for them. But, it does not mean that the employer can use it power to ill treat and abuse the maids. Maids are also human. As an employer, they can order them to do things, but not using physical contact to communicate like hurting them when the does not do thing correctly. Employer should advice and show them the correct way instead of hurting them.
Muhammad Azran 22 2E1
Siti Nurulhuda(13) 2e1
1) I think that humans have no right over another. We humans are suppose to treat everyone equally. Be it whether they are short, or fat, ugly or disgusting. We are all humans. In Ms Siti's case, her employer didn't have the right to abuse her. Ms Siti was already kind enough to do all her housework. Though it is her job, I think, she was kind and strong enough to stand being abused for about 34 months. It was kind enough of Ms Siti to still carry on doing the housework and not do anything in revenge despite her being mistreated. Ms Siti may be a maid, but everyone has the right to speak out. Nobody is similar. nobody is perfect. It is only right for Ms Siti to escape and get help. Even if there's something lacking in Ms Siti, i don't think she deserves to be abused and scalded with hot water. Like i said, nobody's perfect. I think, the employer should try putting herself in Ms Siti's position. I am sure she wouldn't like to be mistreated even though she had made a mistake.
2) Through this article, there are different types of people.
One, someone rich with status and look down upon those who are not.
Two, someone who is rich with status but do not look upon others.
And thirdly, ordinary people. Not rich, doesn't really have much of a status.
Ms Siti's employer somes from the first category. She look have status and is rich. She look down upon those you who doesn't have status. As Ms Siti is a maid, she looked down on her and thinks that she is better than the maid as she has status and is rich.
The second category is for people like Ms Siti's neighbour. Even though they are rich, they sympathize Ms Siti and help her to escape. They do not look down upon other people even though they have status.
The cab driver is a nice man. Obviously, he belonged to the third category. I think he was really kind to drive Ms Siti free of charge and not only that, even gave her RM10. Some taxi drivers might just drive past and not bother about her as it doesn't concern them and they do not even get any profit for driving her to her destination.
therefore, in this modern society, there are nice people and the cruel ones who think that they are big just because they have got money and status. And the nice people are the ones who have self-conscious. I think in this modern world, majority are like Ms Siti's neighbour or the cab driver.
Siti Nurulhuda (13)

1) A human has no rights over another. Of course, everyone has their own rights. Each human being is an equal. They deserve their own rights, and do not deserve to be abused. Like the term 'maid' for example. This makes the employer think that they have an upper class compared to their maid, thus it gives them the thinking that they are allowed to abuse the maid, or even cut their salary. This is in fact wrong. The employee works for an employer and in return gets paid, not abused. The employer has no rights over their employees, they only have authority. The employer should not abuse this authority. A human usually has no rights over someone else, but there is an exception. Our parents have some rights over us. They brought us into this world and thus, they deserve their rights over us.
2)Nowadays, humans tend to treat one another with less respect, according to their status, especially with 'maids'. Humans compare their status by wealth, which is wrong. They should treat each other equally, no matter how much wealth they have.
In this case, Ms Siti was treated very badly. She was looked down on by her employee and was abused, 'for three years, Indonesian maid Siti Hajar endured constant beatings and was fed plain rice. She was offered pork with the rice, which she, as a Muslim, refused. Neither did she get her RM500 ($S207) monthly wages.' Ms Siti was ill-treated and was forced at certain times to eat pork as she was only fed plain rice twice a day.
Luckily, there are still humans who do not care about status, such as the taxi driver who helped Ms Siti. More people should be like this taxi driver and not like Ms Siti's employee. Ms Siti's employee did not respect her religion while the taxi driver, who felt sorry for her even gave her some 'pocket money'.
What rights do you think that humans have over others?
From my point of view,I think that humans have no rights towards others.Everyone in the world is equal regardless of whether you are from the upper society or the lower society.Even me ,just a fourteen years old girl, would not wants others to control me.So,as for Ms Siti,do you think that she wants to be controled like that?We are humans and should be treated equally and fairly. From Ms Siti ' maid abusing case,i felt that the she is already very kind enough as she helped to so all the housework chores regardless the facts that she was ill-treated by her owner. Each person have the rights to do what they want. The employer cannot control or do whatever she likes to Ms Siti even though she "owns"her.thus, the employer does not have the rigths to abuse Ms Siti.
2)what do the articles state about how humans treat each other in our modern world of today?
People in modern world of today strongly believe that social status is the most important things in the world.People of higher social status tends to looked-down on people which are of a lower social status ,juat like what the employer did to Ms Siti. She may have "bought" her ,but, that does not give her the authority to ill-treat her.Not only that ,the employer should not forced Ms Siti to do what they cannot do so, like eating pork because of her reglious.Maids like Ms Siti, comes here to earn a living, they are just ordinary people who are serving the family. They also have feelings like us and we should treats them equally as how we treat our family members.
But,still,in this world, there are still people who does not care about the social status and takes pity on others ,just like the cab driver. He offered Ms Sitia a help by giving her a free ride to the detination. His kindness could also be told by giving Ms Siti a additional RM10.This kind of people in the world is hard to find nowadays as peoples tends to be very realistic ans selfish.

[1] What rights do you think that humans have over others?
We may be born into this world equal however, in life, people are given rights.
Why do you think that there is a lawyer to decide who is guilty and who is innocent? He was GIVEN that right.
However, these rights have to be used under the law. When these rights are taken advantage of and it is no longer under the strict rules of the law, just like what Ms.Siti's empolyer did, it then becomes wrong.
[2]What do the articles state about how humans treat each other in our modern world of today?
First of all, I feel that we do not respect other religions as we ought to. Ms.Siti's employer gave her pork to eat even though she is a Muslim. He obviously knew she could not eat pork yet he gave it to her to eat. He was very inconsiderate to do such things.
The taxi driver on the other hand is very generous and kind to give Ms.Siti a ride to the embassy. As a taxi driver, his income may not be much but yet he still gave 10 riggit to Ms.Siti. We should follow his example when it comes to helping others.
(1) What rights do you think that humans have over others?
Absolutely no rights asides from one's own parents and elder siblings or relatives, provided they tell you to do soemthing that is wrong.Humans are all equal and everyone should be equally treated despite their status.
One person may have a slight advantage over others, but if he insists on throwing his weight about,as if implying to everyone that he is the most superior human being on the planet, what is that going to prove? It proves that he is just simply abusing his authority and admitting that he has a massive ego which tells him that he can do this: look down on others and squash them beneath his feet as if they were nothing.
This example can be used in this particular case of Ms Siti Rajar. Her employer should realise this:He might have the authority, but if he abuses it all by ill treating her and telling her to eat something that wasn't allowed by her religion, what are other people who hears about this going to think or say about him behind his back?
(2) What do the articles state about how humans treat each other in our modern world of today?
Most of us do not live in the times where there is a ruler or an emperor who has control over us and have the legal rights to do anthing to us,be it beating or execution. The world is supposed to be a better place for everyone, but only not to be the case.
Why?Because we continue to have people such as Ms Siti's employer, who thinks it is alright to ill-treat others.Their instincts would tell them: "That person is working for me.If he/she goes wrong anywhere it would be alright for me to do this and that..."That statement is half true, and half
false. If the meaning of "doing this and that" is simply telling her the mistakes and how not to repeat it again,it is the right thing. But like I just mentioned above,if one goes too far and abuse his authority by beating and abusing,it is false and it is only right for the person to sue you.
If everyone was to be like the taxi driver, who actually shows sympathy to one who is a complete stranger to him and help out in any way he can, wouldn't the world be a much, much better place?

(1) What rights do you think that humans have over others?
I seriously think that humans don't have rights over other as we were all the same. The only difference is just that some people were lucky to be rich, but some people who were unfortunate, were poor.Although the employer give the maids, wages and place to stay,Still, they does not have any rights over them! i think that the employer has the belief that ''maid doesn't deserved to be treated well''. This can be seen from how she scalded ms siti and denied her,her salary. She even went to the extent of forcing a muslim to consume pork, perhaps to save money, but no matter what she had given ms siti, the employer has no right to force people to went against their religion beliefs. Maids may be low-educated.they hope to work to support their family. But that doesn't mean that low-educated people should be mistreated, the employer might had though that the maids doesn't know that she had the rights to report to police to protect herself. In this society,Some people can still be sucessful even without a degree.Such as coaches for sports, they simply need physical strength but not a degree.
(2) What do the articles state about how humans treat each other in our modern world of today?
The articles state that some maid employer don't treat their maids well. In this article, the employer went to the extent of giving her pork which she as a muslim, cannot consume,to make sure that she is being starved and help saves money. She doesn't spare a thought for ms siti, this articles reveal a dark side of people. It may seem as though, darkness do exist and it seem that the kind and innocent can't protect themselves. The employer might had made use of the fact that the maid doesn't know how to protect herself from un-necessary harm.Despite all this, Kind people DOES exist. One living example is the taxi who drive ms siti back to her hometown where she seek help and be protected from harm. The taxi driver, despite knewing that she can't possibly have the money to pay him,he still drive her home and even give her RM10 as pocket money,That was Kind! But in this world, the riches reign, those of higher status, practically had the belief that ''they were superior'' as compared to maid,so they think, that give them the rights to abuse maids, which they don't have the rights to do so.In this society, only the fittest survive,so if we were poor,we might need to resign to our ill-fated lives.
(1) What rights do you think that humans have over others?
All humans are equal and they have no rights over others.Except for one's parents,no one else have the right over each other and I think that the Indonesian maid in the article does not deserve this type of treatment from her employer.
Having to suffer within an employer's torture is a very painful process. All i have to say is that I'm impressed with the maid's will to continue to work on.And finally,to sum things up,no one,and I repeat no one has rights over each other,no matter race or age.
(2) What do the articles state about how humans treat each other in our modern world of today?
People nowadays treat others based on their occupation just like in the article, the employer treats the maid like a slave, beating her and abusing her just because she is the employee.I think that she does not deserve to be abused,as she is also a normal human being.
As long as she is human, that's of course, she does not deserve any abusing or beating. She is also a wilful lady as she continues to work on even she is badly abused. And she is also clever to have escaped her employer.

Humans absolutely have no right to do anything on others especially outsiders.Unless it is like a mother and child then it is considered qutie okay.No matter what their status are we should not treat people like dirt anywhere. In this world I believe that everyone is equal as they may be better at certain points and weaker at other points. So take Miss Siti's employer as example she hired the maid as she maybe weaker at doing some of the household chores.

Articles show that people have underestimated some other people that are lower ranking than them like for example people would ignore or sometimes even rob beggars for money.People like to use violence and power to get what they want nowdays. But then i think that the world is slowly trying to change.

1.Humans have no rights over others. In this case Ms. Siti Hajar's employer might think that she has the right over Ms. Siti because she works for her. She might think that she owns Ms. Siti and she can treat her in any way she wants. Even though some people are unfortunate , they are still humans and humans should threat each other equally. As a employer, she should know that even though a maid works for her it doesn't mean work to get abused or starved.
2.I can see from the articles that there are people who treat others equally and those who look down on people because of the status of others.
Ms. Siti hajar's employer is one of the example of those who look down on others because of their status. She abused her for the reason because Ms. Siti works for her . She forced Ms Siti to eat pork which means she has no respect towards Ms. Siti's religion that doesn't allows her to eat pork.
and the example of those who treat others equally is the cab driver. He helped Ms. Siti by driving her to the Indonesian embassy and gave her RM10 as a pocket money. He didn't care about others status.

Humans are all equal and have no rights over others. Male or Female, old or young, we still have no right over others. People always think that maids are like a servant or a slave even but i dont think it as that way. Although maids are to do house chores and cooks for you or take care of someone, they are still someone important to you. Without them, there will be no one to do the house chores for you and no one to do all the house chores while you are at work. And of cause, we should not also torture maids like giving them little food to eat, not giving them their salary, making life hard for them and other things that make life difficult for them.

According to what ms siti had said in the article, she said that not all employers are bad. The articles also states that people tend to look down on people based on their occupation. For example, ms siti was terribly abused by her employer and her employers family relatives. They did things like pouring hot water on her, forcing her to eat pork when they know that shes a muslim, and not giving her her monthly salary. But there are also kind hearted people in this situation like the taxi driver. Many people know that being a taxi driver is not easy to earn a living and yet the driver not only drives ms siti to the indonesian embassy but also gave her a 10RM as pocket money. Thus if only many people in this world is like the taxi driver, this world would be a much better place to live in.

1. What rights do you think that humans have over others?
I think that some people have rights over others but, those rights are earned and not given. These rights also have a certain limit to them. You don't have the right to abuse people whether you are their employer, parent, sibling or teacher. Abusing isn't a right that is given to or earned by anyone. People often think that having the right over another means he/she does not need to show the other respect but, whoever you are, The Queen, The President and even our elders need to show and gain the respect of the people at a lower rank and the ones at a lower rank should work hard to gain respects of the higher ranked people as well as their peers and their juniors.
2. What do the articles state about how humans treat each other in our modern world of today?
Some humans care alot about how others feel and think. Whereas others may not care enough to bother about how a person might feel being treated a certain way. The employer of Ms Siti certainly did not have the conscience to put herself in Ms Siti's shoes to think about the pain Ms Siti is going through. On the other hand, the taxi driver looked at Ms Siti's injuries and knew it must have hurt. He sent her to the embassy, not only for free but he still gave her allowance. This shows that there are all sorts of people in the world and they have different ways of treating people, some nice and some absolutely horrible.

(1) What rights do you think that humans have over others?
Nowaday those people who own someone think that they are inferior to them for they work under them to serve them but not to be treated lower but equally. We have the right to order them to do thing for they are paid to do it but if a person abuse the person with either physical, verbal, mental and emotional abuse may be think that they are no equal to us.A person who can't even give a person to see their family once in a while or are forced by their employer to eat something they cannot eat are beast which should be the one who do the dirty work to know how hard those people earned a living. These people should have be an equal to us as we are all human, many people may think they have the rights over those who they paid but they are wrong for they only just serve them but not be their puppet. Those people who treat people like miss siti hajar employer have no heart to a human themselves which shows how selfish a person can be,if one wants to gain other people respect they should treat all as equal so that nobody is left out.
(2) What do the articles state about how humans treat each other in our modern world of today?
Today in our modern world, people get worst physical abuse from their employer for example,an employer pour boiling water all over a maid or the employer rape the maid which gives a mental abuse and physical as she might be afraid of man in the future. Nowadays, people think that they have rights over some other people which they think they have but don't which leads to all this abusing which cause some maids to run off to tell the world what kind of treatment the employer had done to her which the employer think lowly of some people. These articles tell me that the state the maids are in now are alot worser than the past which may cause some maid to be scared and not work which leaves people to do the things themselves which can be troblesome if a person had to work for long and do household work. There are also people who are nice like the person who gave miss siti hajar a ride and even giving her RM10 which shows that some people have a heart and treat each other equally,so there maybe both good and bad person in this worlds, who knows how the world will react in the future but i hope people learn a lesson about treating other poeple lowly.
